Q

The bathroom drain is not draining well. What could be the cause?

A

The drain (drain cover, filter, opening, etc...) could be clogged.

If the drain filter is dirty (hair trapped, etc...) the flow of the water will be clogged, making the water flow slowly or stop.

If the filter is clogged, you can can open the drain filters to clean it. You can then test if the drain's water flow returns to normal.

●How to remove the parts of the drain filter.

①Turn the drain's cover filter counter-clockwise to remove it.

②The hair catcher filter can be removed by pulling it from the drain. Some drain types does not have the extra hair catches.

③The drain box can also be removed by turning it counter-clockwise and then pulling.

※Do not pull, turn or remove the outer piece of the drain (flange).

※If the drain parts are too tight to remove, try removing it while wearing rubber gloves.

④Remove the accumulated dirt and hair, then use a sponge and/or a brush to clean the parts and the inside of the drain and check the water flow again.

※After cleaning the drain, be sure to install back all parts in order.

If the drain is still clogged, even after removing the filters and cleaning, the drain pipe itself may be clogged. File an [Inquiry Form] with the information.

The tenants subscribed to the 『Tenants Support and Keys System』 or the 『Tenants Support System』 will have the maintenances regarding water/pipeline related problems assisted free of charge.

Check here the details regarding the services.

※In case the clog was caused by the carelessness or negligence (dropped something in the drain, did not clean regularly, etc...) the values required to unclog may be charged from the tenant.
