Q

What should I do if there is an odor coming from my washing machine drain?

A

If you are concerned about an odor coming from the drain of your washing machine, please check the following.

The drainage of a water area has a place called trap to store water, which serves the purpose of preventing bad odors and pests from entering through the sewer pipes.

If you have not used water for a while, such as when you are away for an extended period of time, the water in the drain trap may evaporate and odors may enter the room.

〈Procedures〉

1. Operate the washing machine (water supply to dehydration) and collect water in the trap.

※If you don't have a washing machine, pour a cup of water down the drain.

※Even if you don't use your washing machine, be sure to run water down the drain at least once a month.

2. Turn the drain trap (where water collects) clockwise to check for looseness.

If it turns, tighten it clockwise to prevent odors from entering.

3. Ventilate for 2 or 3 days and check if there is any improvement.

If you have tried the above and the problem persists, please let us know by filling out the Equipment Repair Request Form.
