How to drain the water from the indoor antifreeze valve (drain valve). (Tohoku)

If a drain valve is installed in the room, the water drainage should be made manually.

〈Location of indoor antifreeze valves (drain valves)〉

Manual drain valves are mainly installed near toilets and washing machine areas.

※The location and specifications of the drain valve vary depending on the property.


〈Indoor water draining procedure using the antifreeze valve (drain valve)〉

1.Turn the handle of the drain valve in each location in the "Drain" 「水抜」direction.


2.Open the bathroom faucet and make sure the water is off.
3.With the bathroom faucet open, open the screw at the bottom and drain any remaining water.
4.Once all the water has been drained, tighten the screw.
5.Turn the faucet clockwise to close it.
6.Open the kitchen faucet.

7.Open the bottom door of the kitchen and turn the screw on the water supply pipe counterclockwise to turn on the water.

※Please collect the water that comes out in a container such as a cup.


8.Once all the water has been drained, reattach the screw and turn it clockwise to close it.

9.Turn off the kitchen faucet.

- For single-lever faucets: Push the handle down to close.

- For two-handle faucets: Turn the handle to the right (clockwise) to close.


10.With the toilet lever pulled towards you, press the white button.
This completes the draining of the water supply pipe. Proceed to the next step.
