If a cold wave is coming or if it is expected to be cold the next morning, it is necessary to drain the water to prevent the water pipes from freezing.

※The frost protection valve (drain valve) is usually located on the ground near the common hallway on the first floor of the building, or on the ground near the balcony area, and is typically covered by a small, round, blue lid.

The lid is labeled "antifreeze valve" 「不凍栓」or "drain valve「水抜栓」"

※Please note that you should not open any lids that do not have instructions.

〈Water draining procedures〉

1.Open the lid and then turn the valve inside to the "off"（止める） position.

When the valve is closed, the water flow is stopped, and all the remaining water in the water pipe will be drained out.
